The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that they are now accepting online asylum applications. This is great news for those seeking asylum in the United States, as it will make the process more efficient and effective.

To file an online asylum application, applicants must first create a USCIS online account. Once an account has been created, applicants can then complete and submit the Form I-589. It is important to note that not all individuals are eligible to file an online asylum application. For example, those who are in proceedings before the Board of Immigration Appeals or who are unaccompanied alien children cannot file online.

For those who are eligible to file online, this is a great step forward in making the asylum process more efficient and effective. USCIS provides a secure method for submitting forms and tracking the status of a pending asylum request throughout the adjudication process. This is a convenient way for applicants to communicate with USCIS about their case and respond to requests for evidence. With the addition of online filing for Form I-589, individuals can now file 13 USCIS forms online.
